NOTICE OF RACE

1. RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the 2009-2012 Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 The rules of the C420, CFJ, Laser and Optimist classes will apply except that RRS 60.1 (a) is changed to prohibit a boat from protesting another boat for an alleged breach of a class rule requiring class membership or imposing a weight limit.
1.3 RRS 40.1 is deleted and replaced with "Competitors shall wear life jackets while racing and the whole time while on the water". Note the Y flag will not be displayed. Wet suits or dry suits are strongly suggested while racing.
2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the following classes:
C420, CFJ, 29er, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, Laser Full Rig and Opti
2.2 Advanced registration is strongly encouraged. Entry forms and online registration will be available at www.Richmondyc.org. Registration and payment will also be accepted at the event.
2.3 The entry fee is $30.00 per sailor for the 29er, CFJ, C420 and Lasers, and an entry fee of $15.00 for Opti's.
3. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Saturday June 26
0830 Registration for 29er, C420, CFJ, Laser's
1000 Competitors Meeting
1100 First Start
Sunday June 27
0830 Registration for Optis
1000 Competitors Meeting for Optis
1100 First start
1530 No start signal after this time
Awards will be held as soon as possible after racing is done
29er, C420, CFJ and Lasers will be racing June 26-27
Opti's will be racing June 27th only
4. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing instructions will be available at registration at the Richmond Yacht Club, and on our web page, www.richmondyc.org.
5. RACING AREA AND COURSES
The 29er, CFJ's, C420 and Lasers will be racing either in Southhampton shoal or Kellers Cove. The Opti's will be either racing in the Richmond Channel or Kellers Cove. Fleet assignments and locations may change depending on current and wind conditions. The courses and marks will be described in the sailing instructions.
6. SCORING
No maximum number of races are scheduled. 3 races must be completed to constitute a series. When 6 races have been completed, each boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
7. PROTESTS
Protesting boats shall inform the Race Committee of the boat being protested imediatly after finishing while keeping clear of other finishers. In accordance with Optimist Class rules, a protest flag must be flown by the protesting boat. This instruction amends RRS 61.1(a)
9. PRIZES
Will be given 1st through 3rd in each fleet
10. PARKING
Parking in the RYC lot will be restricted during the regatta. There must be no Opti trailers, Opti coach boats or Opti's parked at the club until the morning of June 27th. Parking at the club is limited to the area in front of the Clubhouse.
